We all know 2020 had its challenges. For me, I took one of what probably could have been 4 or 5 work trips in early March and came home just in time to be with Chicken as she passed from this world. And a week later, the world came to a screeching halt as the coronavirus pandemic became a global threat.
I’d had a couple fosters early in the year, and once work travel was off the table for awhile that turned into well over 18 months at least, I was able to foster like I’ve never fostered before. When the year was all said and done, I’d been able to give a loving foster home to 21 dogs and 2 kittens. I’ll admit right here that I foster failed (adopted my fosters) three times with the amazing puppies, Finch and Sadie, and kitten, Tuna. I regret nothing.
I will dig deeper into some of these fosters’ second chance stories of redemption soon, but I want to make sure to share the video I made of my record-breaking foster year. Look at all these sweet little faces!
I’ve also made a gallery wall of Mixtiles with all of my forever pups and almost all of my 2020 fosters in my dining room. It was a bright spot in the isolation of the pandemic year to have these examples of my purpose on this earth where I can easily admire them.
